The word tempus is Latin for opportunity and timing; the organization was formed after founder Chris de Eyre returned from volunteering in Nepal, where he was struck by the lack of opportunities available to local youth. He recruited a group of like-minded students in Toronto and Tempus International was born in 2003.

15,000 youth participate in this year’s “The Mighty Pen” Writing Competition in Nepal
Tempus International is pleased to announce the awards ceremony for its third bi-annual “The Mighty Pen” writing competition for youth in Nepal will take place on May 7, 2010 in Kathmandu. Over 15,000 students from 30 rural regions in Nepal submitted entries for this year’s competition between July and October 2009. From these submissions, 18 national winners were selected and will receive tuition scholarships to further their education. Read more...
